Executive Briefing: Open to All Directions
Designed by Fifth Guru Arjan, the foundation stone was laid by Muslim Sufi saint Hazrat Mian Mir. Unlike traditional Hindu temples built high on hills, Harmandir Sahib was built at a lower level with four entrances, signifying humility and open welcome to all castes and creeds.

The central sanctum sits surrounded by the *Amrit Sarovar*, reflecting the golden copper gilding and harmonizing architecture with aquatic serenity.
