Executive Briefing: The Gate to the Promised Day
In 1844 Shiraz, Siyyid ‘Ali Muhammad declared Himself The Báb (The Gate), announcing the imminent arrival of “He Whom God Shall Make Manifest” (Bahá’u’lláh), culminating in His public execution by a 750-man firing squad in Tabriz in 1850.
1. The Bayán: Breaking the Mold of Tradition
The Báb’s revolutionary Persian and Arabic scriptures abrogated the laws of the Quran, calling for the purification of spiritual motives and the joyful welcome of the new revelation.
