Executive Briefing: Governance Without Priesthood
The Bahá’í community functions without professional clergy. Governance is administered through elected nine-member councils (Local and National Spiritual Assemblies, and the Universal House of Justice) practicing non-adversarial consultation (*Mashwarat*).
1. The Art of Spiritual Consultation
Bahá’í consultation prohibits partisan campaigning, personal attacks, and ego ownership of ideas: once an idea is shared at the table, it belongs to the consultative group to refine or discard in pursuit of truth.
