Executive Briefing: Relational Epistemology
Martin Buber’s Ich und Du (1923) divided human interaction into two modes: I-It (utilitarian objectification) and I-Thou (sacred, mutual encounter with the other, through which we glimpse the Eternal Thou).
1. All Real Living Is Meeting
Buber argued that God is found not in abstract intellectual dogma or solitary monastic withdrawal, but precisely in the sacred “between” (*das Zwischen*) of genuine dialogical encounter.
